Definition: One of the most coveted advertising awards
The International Festival of Creativity, better known as the Cannes Lions, is a who’s who of creative leaders in marketing and communications (and related fields). The Cannes Lion is one of the most prestigious awards a marketer can receive and because of this, some will go to extreme lengths to win one. Unfortunately, some will miss the mark!
“Care From the Air” is one promotion created for Nivea that went horribly (and hilariously) wrong. The campaign promoted Nivea’s line of sunscreen and featured a remote-controlled seagull that poops sunscreen on children at the beach. The campaign fell short of winning a Cannes Lion, but was certainly a memorable contribution from the event!
