Definition: Transparent or semi-transparent ads that display over a web page
You have an idea for dinner tonight and as you Google recipes, you finally come across a reputable site. As you wait for the page to load, an ad appears out of nowhere, hovering over that delicious bowl of couscous you plan to cook.
Floaters are great to grab the attention of a user but they can be awfully annoying. Attractive floaters do have a higher click-through rate, but if you aren’t going to invest the time in making your ad look nice, then you shouldn’t bother making one at all. Visitors to pages don’t take kindly to pop-ups and unwanted solicitations of any kind!
